When Natalie at Celebrate Niagara invited us to meet with bride Teresa, we were thrilled to quote on another Stratus wedding. Drawing inspiration from bridal magazines, Teresa knew exactly what she wanted, an elegant and vintage feel to celebrate her marriage to Richard. Awash in hues of pink and blush, Teresa’s bouquet of roses, white phalaenopsis orchids, snow berry and eucalyptus complimented the elegance of her lace halter-style dress. The ceremony in the round was held under a romantic draped canopy, and officiated by the lovely Kathy Davis at Kettle Creek Weddings. With acres of grape vines in the background, an acoustic guitarist, and delicious hors d’oeuvres by Treadwell Farm to Table Cuisine, this Stratus Vineyards wedding was an affair to remember! Guests excitedly gathered in Press Alley, to be greeted by the impressive 90 foot reception table, adorned with menus by Defining Moments Stationary. A combination of slate planters, mercury glass, candlelight, and an array of florals provided a counterpoint to the industrial atmosphere of the venue. A trio of cakes designed by Willow Cakes perched on brass candle sticks greeted the guests, another idea from Teresa’s storyboard. The wine was flowing, and the couple was glowing with love. It’s a wedding made for sharing, thanks to Avenue Photo for capturing all the beautiful details!

Myriam & Marc travelled from New Brunswick to exchange their vows at Riverbend’s charming gazebo overlooking the vineyards. The couple used a soft colour palette of dusty mauve, green, and cream to compliment the bridemaid’s dresses. We could feel the love in the air as soon as we delivered the bouquets to 124 Queen, and the weather couldn’t have been better! Marc & Myriam’s close family and friends were treated to a candle-lit reception at the stunning Stratus Vineyards. With such a beautiful couple -inside and out- it’s no wonder the photos by Gemini Photography turned out so lovely.

Inspired by the magic of the movie ‘Into the Woods’, our next inspirational shoot brings together a rustic, earthy look with a touch of glamor. As you will shortly see, the result is simply spell-binding!
All held at The Grand Victorian in Niagara-on-the-Lake, who provided a beautiful setting, all captured by Gemini Photography Ontario.

The seriously pretty invitation set using actual wood veneer by Savvy Sendables is the perfect opening to this whimsical soiree. One of our favorite details of the day was a visit from the big (not-so) bad wolf himself (Bacchus the oversized Irish Wolfhound) who gladly posed for his closeup next to beautiful Rebecca. The stunning sitting room set the stage for the noteworthy candy table of sweets in the perfect palette of greens, whites, and soft blues and silvers by Candy by Katie, and a show-stopping cake by Sweet Celebrations.
For the tablescape we wanted to showcase a dreamy, enchanted-forest look. We combined antique details and mixed regal patterns with more earthy textures with unique rentals from The Warehouse to create a woodland fairytale-like scene. The grand, wood dining-table and mix of tapestry was softened by silver-purple linens and a fabulous fur runner by Gala Decor and overflowing, wild and romantic florals by Cathy Martin Flowers. To draw further into the inspiration of a magical forest, we incorporated smoke, plenty of candlelight in silver mercury glass, and sweet woodland mushrooms for each place setting.

Various sized candlelit mercury glasses lined the staircase accompanied by fresh eucalyptus branches. Using these two elements is really an easy, yet elegant way to dress up any area of your wedding.

Floral crowns of all shapes and sizes are all the rage this year (and last!) and we’re finding more and more of our brides are requesting them. They can be a romantic and whimsical alternative to a bouquet, or be the added touch to your finished bridal look.
Whether you consider yourself a boho bride, or a stylish trend-setter, a crown of flowers can add that perfect touch of romance to your look. Hair up or down, big crown or delicate, the possibilities are endless. We set out to capture some images last night of 2 floral crowns that we made as samples.

Have a look at our impromptu photo-shoot and be inspired!
